ARTIST’S STATEMENT
The power of process: shifting the focus from the final product to the process of making. I have come to the realization that the intricate explanations of techniques and materials are not what my art is about for me.
Making art brings me joy.
Making art brings me a sense of accomplishment and purpose.
Making art allows me to be happily alone to be open to the process of exploration and creativity.
Making art forces me to trust my intuition, to confront hard choices and to make difficult decisions.
Making art exposes my weaknesses and strengths that I choose to embrace or ignore, or both.
Making art introduces me to new experiences, environments, and, most importantly, to new friends and colleagues.
Making art brings me joy, and in the end, more often than not, the power of the making enhances what is being made.
